About

Hi, I’m Shane,

I started Velour Cookie Company because food allergies are a part of my everyday life.

I know what it’s like to walk through a grocery store reading every label, checking ingredients, and putting things back on the shelf. I know how frustrating it is to find something that’s safe to eat, only to realize it’s not actually something you’re excited to eat.

And honestly, I got tired of settling.

Having celiac disease, a gluten sensitivity, a nut allergy, or another dietary restriction already comes with enough compromises. I don’t think a really good cookie should have to be one of them.

So I created Velour.

We make gluten-free and nut-free frozen cookie dough that you can bake at home whenever you want a warm, fresh-from-the-oven cookie. I wanted the convenience of something you could keep in your freezer, but I wanted the finished cookie to taste and feel like it came straight from a bakery.

More importantly, I never wanted Velour to make cookies that were simply “good for gluten-free.”

I want them to be really good cookies. Period.

That means creating flavors that are rich, indulgent, fun, and sometimes a little ridiculous in the best way. Cookies that I’m excited to eat and proud to share with people who don’t have food allergies at all.

Because that’s really what Velour is about for me.

I want someone with dietary restrictions to be able to sit down with everyone else, reach for the same dessert, and not feel like they got the consolation prize.

Velour is an allergy-conscious cookie company, but I want us to be known for what we make first: exceptional cookies that just happen to be gluten-free and nut-free.

If Velour can make life with food allergies feel a little less limiting and a lot more delicious, then we’re doing exactly what I started this company to do.

Thanks for being here. I hope you love what we’re baking.
